MISS SHIRLEY HICKS RECEIVES AWARD Mis Shirley Hicks, senior in the Pioneer high school, received P T A BUYS EQUIPMENT The February meeting of the Royal Centre Elementary PTA was held Monday, February 8th at 7:30 p.m, in the Grade School Gym. During the business meeting, James Pugh reported to the mem- bers present that his committee had recommended several items needed by the grade school, to the PTA Excuti-e Board. He reported that the Exeutive Board had voted to purchase the following educat- ional and recreational items: 2 sets s,hower curtainl;' (girls show or), 5 clocks for class, Poems, 1 peg board folding screen for Home Ec Room, 1 long reach stapler, 2 reg- ul,ar sdze staplers, 12 large ru'bber balls, 12 long Jumping ropes. 12 six inch rubber balls, 1 set sdght aving encyclopedia, 1 merry-go- roun<l (10 foot diameter). A nominating committee was appointed by the president Mrs. Jo Ann Metzger, and election, of officers will be held during the March meeting. Mur- phy attended a two-day meeting of the State" Board of Registration for Professional Egineers and Land Surveyors at Indianapolis during the week end. The board members prepared the spring examinations to be given, those seeking regisration as engineers and surveyors.
