IO ROYAL CENTRE RECORD THURSDAY APRIL 12, 1973 The Pasta1 s ,=oroer Several important things happ- ened on this date in history. On April 12th in 1945. Franklin D. IRoosevelt died, He had led Amer- ica through some rough days. In passing, the reins of governmen' tell upon Harry S. Truman. He too laced some very trying times, We <,Jght to pray for those m author- ity over us. God says "I exhort therefore, that irst of all, supplic- ations, prayers, intercessions, and g:ving of thanks, he made for all nen: For Kings, and for all that ,are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.'" 1 Timotly 2:1. 2 It is easy to crkicize, but il the leadersh p were in ur hands. | am sure we v ould be more under- standmg of the need for under- standing and prayer for our lead- mrs. We need men who will lead us aright, and not always give us just what we want. Also on this day in 1961, Greg- arin became the first spaceman. But was he) The Bible tells of Enoch and Elijah who passed through apacel And Jesus Christ also went through space, And when He comes., those who are the true children of God will be caught up into the clouds, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. And so shall we ever be with the Lord. I Thessalonians 4:! 7. Are you ready for that trip through space) Rev. James H. Gardner Bell Cnter Bible Church f PRETTY FEET o un/que beauty cream • t m that changes those dry & rough areas of skin into baby softness. Try it -- you'll find PRETTY FEET is like no other. Go On , . , pamper yourself. Read Psalm 118.24-29; Luke 17:11-19 "'This is the day which the Lord lhath made: we will-rejoice and he gl*td in it. (Psalm 118 24) One day my husband and 1 "stopped at the home of a mountain tarmer. Taking in the breathtaking haauty, 1 exclaimed, ",What a ]vely view you have herer' "The farmer looked about him and then dryly answered. "Huh there ain't nothing to see but anountains l'" Too many of us take for granted all the wonders about us. With each new day comes evidence that there is a Supreme Being govern- in4g the universe. Each time the sun rises and shines, it means that God has created a new day for our use and pleasure. We should rejoice in (The article mentioned b,-low wll be found under another head.) South Bend, Indiana April 3. 1973 .ditor of the R. C. lt.cord D.: r Sir The March 26th ed'tion of the South Bend Tribune, had this en- closed artile o( interest to some o your readers. It brought tack some memories. 1 along many of your readers will remember Miss Kistler and her brother William (Bill) as straight A students in R.C.H.S. Many from the Royal Centre area migrated to South Bend after completing their 12 years in your local schools. I do not know when Bill and Ellen left Cass County. Back to the chuckle. There was called in that day a township orat- orial contest, which culminated in the County contest at Logansport. In the township contest, the writer l a freshman survived. The other three students was Vera mith Mary Ward and Ellen Kistler. Yes t you tt, essed it, ! was eliminated on the first round. The word absent. ot me. Yes, you again guessed it. In writing this i had to look in my dictionary, which 1 always have handy to see whether it is spelled with an "'s" or a "'c". Concluding, ! believe Ellen was in the class of "15 or "16, Was sorry to hear of the recent pass- in of Milfred House. M:lfred was was in my class (Class of '19) and was an e¢ceptional student. Richard L. Fry this knowledge and express our thanksgiving in our prayers and in service to our Creator. Being glad in each new day is possible for us. With the help of Christ we can fill it with service for Him and our fellowmen. Whatever our work or wherever it may take us, we can be glad in our hearts. The old saying, Make yourself hap- py until ten. then you will be hap- py all day" holds much meaningl PRAYER: Our God, give us glad hearts for the work of this day, May our service to Thee be unself- ish and done with joy. In Jesus" name. Amen. PRAYER: Our God, give us glad heart accomplishes more than a sad one. Margaret Bundy Moss, Lewisville, North Carolina 61498 Oak Rd. I Nora( Mrs. J. B.
